— GOBO gobos —

A graphic that
defines the projection

The GOBO gobo is the heart of the projector — a precise template that gives shape to the projected image. See how it is made and what it makes possible in practice.

What a gobo is

A precise template for your graphic

A GOBO gobo is a round element made of glass or metal carrying a pattern — a logo, a coat of arms, lettering or any graphic. Placed inside the projector, together with the LED light beam it creates a sharp, clear image on any surface.

How it works

From graphic file to finished gobo

01

You send the graphic file

A vector file (AI, EPS, SVG) or a description of your idea for the gobo graphic.

02

We prepare the design

We adapt the graphic to the gobo technology and the power of the device.

03

You approve the visualisation

We send a preview of the projection for approval before production.

04

Production and dispatch

The finished gobo reaches you, usually within a few days.

Glass or metal — what gobos are made of

A gobo is a disc placed inside the projector, through which the light passes. It is made in two ways, and the choice translates directly into what can be projected.

Metal — cut out

A thin metal plate with the pattern cut out. Cheaper and durable, but single-colour by nature — light passes where there is an opening. It works well for simple logos, arrows and signs, where only the shape matters.

Glass — multi-layer

The graphic is applied to special glass resistant to temperatures up to 500°C. It allows full colour, smooth gradients and even photographs. This is the version ordered for coats of arms, festive motifs and multi-colour logos.

How to prepare the graphic

We need a file a vector file, in curves — from Illustrator, CorelDRAW or the free Inkscape. A vector can be scaled to the size of the gobo without losing sharpness; a JPG photo or a logo downloaded from a website cannot.

No vector file? We will prepare one — it is a standard service, not a surcharge for a whim. We then need the best version you have: PDF, EPS or at least a high-resolution PNG.

  • the lighter the tones, the more legible the projection — a dark graphic on a dark wall disappears,
  • thin lines and small text are lost when enlarged to several metres,
  • a round shape, or a square inscribed in a circle — the gobo is a disc,
  • the cost depends on the number of colours, not on how complex the drawing is,
  • two sizes: 37 mm and 53 mm — determined by the projector model, not by preference.
